Using the competency details page

The competency details page can be accessed from the competency profile, and it allows you to focus on the details of an individual competency.

On the competency details page you can see the name and description for that competency.

You will also see a dropdown menu to allow you to pick an assignment. This allows you to see the different ways you have been assigned this same competency (e.g. via a certain position, organisation or audience membership or via direct or self-assignment). 

There will also be a visual representation of the scale used for this competency with your current achievement level highlighted. Clicking on a rating level in the scale will show its description (if one is available). 

Underneath these elements is the Ways to achieve proficiency in this competency section, where you can see all of the different actions required to achieve proficiency and the progress you have made on them so far. The various tabs in this section will only appear if they are applicable to that particular competency and could include:

• Criteria fulfilment (such as course completions)
• Assessment (such as ratings by yourself or your manager)
• Learning plan (only available with Totara Learn)

When viewing the Assessment tab you can also complete any available ratings (e.g. rating yourself or rating someone else if you are their manager). 

On the competency details page you will also notice three buttons:

• Archived assignments: Located in the top-right corner. This pop-up allows you to view any past assignments for that particular competency - including the archived date and if proficiency had been achieved
• Activity log: Located in the top-right corner. This pop-up allows you to see details of all actions carried out on that competency for all assignments - this might include being assigned the competency or receiving a rating
• Archive this assignment: Located on the right by the rating scale. This button allows you to archive the currently selected assignment for this competency. 

Use the Back to competency profile link in the top-left corner to return to the competency profile.
