Restrict access based on user profile information


Article Summary

The User profile completion condition can restrict access to the activity based on fields within the learner’s profile.  

  1. Navigate to the course and select Turn editing on.
  2. Click Edit next to the activity for which you want to restrict access.
  3. Expand the Restrict access section and click Add restriction.
  4. Select User profile.
  5. You can select whether the learner must or must not match the specified completion criteria.
  6. Select the relevant User profile field from the Choose... dropdown menu.
  7. Next select the relevant criteria (e.g. is equal to or doesn't contain) and enter the information you want to exclude/include in the text field. For example, you could restrict audience to any users with a specific email domain by selecting Email address doesn't contain
  8. Select Add restriction... to add another condition.
  9. Then select Save and display or Save and return to course to confirm your selection.

You can also click the X delete icon to cancel without saving.
