Maximum processing interval

The maximum processing interval determines how far back your logs should be processed the first time statistics are processed with a cron job.

Statistics processing can be very resource intensive and put a strain on your system, so you may not want to go too far back, particularly if your site experiences a lot of traffic. While you may want to process the last six months of data the first time you run your statistics, this could take a very long time to run.

Maximum runtime

This setting enables you to set the maximum time allowed for processing statistics per day. For example, you can allow statistics to be processed for up to one hour per day.

As processing statistics can be very time-consuming and resource intensive, you may want to limit the time allowed, rather than leaving this setting as Until complete. Leaving the statistics to run indefinitely could have an impact on your site's performance, particularly at busier times.

Days to process

This setting allows you to select the maximum number of days that will be processed per cron - by default this is set to 31 days. However, once your statistics are up to date only one day will need to be processed at a time.

If you haven't set a maximum runtime, you may want to limit the number of days processed to ensure that cron executions do not take too long.

User threshold

The user threshold setting determines the minimum number of enrolled learners for a course to be included in your statistics. By default this is set to zero, meaning your statistics will include all courses on your site. 

Change the user threshold to one if you do not want to include courses with no enrolled users.
