What are workspaces?

Workspaces are an important feature of Totara Engage, providing dedicated areas for users to collaborate, discuss, and find curated resources. How you use workspaces is ultimately up to you and your users.
There are different types of workspaces that you can use for different use cases. You can create workspaces for the different departments and teams in your organisation, or create them based on skills, interests, and more. How you use workspaces will depend on your organisation’s needs, but here are a few suggestions to get you started.
Dedicated workspaces can make a great addition to your formal learning, such as any courses or programs you have in Totara Learn. You can link out to a workspace from your learning content, giving learners a handy place to share useful resources they’ve found and discuss the subject matter with other learners.
You can use private workspaces as areas for teams to collaborate on specific projects, allowing you to keep all project-related discussions, files and resources in one place. You can add all of the required team members to a workspace while keeping its contents hidden from other users on your site, giving the team an area to focus solely on the project at hand.
You could create a workspace for each group of new starters at your organisation. This would give new starters a chance to get to know each other, and ask questions to the people in the know. You can use the workspace’s library to share important information such as policy documents and orientation materials.
