Map a cache to a store instance

Article Summary

Mapping a store instance to a cache tells Totara to use that store instance when the cache is interacted with. This allows the you to control where information gets stored and to optimise your site's performance by making the most of the resources available to your site.

  1. Go to Quick-access menu > Plugins > Caching > Configuration.
  2. Scroll down to the Known cache definitions table.
  3. Find the cache you want to map.
  4. Click Edit mappings in the Actions column.
  5. Use the dropdown menus to map one or more cache store instances.
    • Primary store: Will be used first when interacting with the cache.
    • Final mapped store: Will be the last cache store interacted with.
  6. Click Save changes when you are done.

You can read more about these configurations and caching in general on the Caching page.
