Set an authentication method

Article Summary

As a Site Administrator you can decide which authentication methods are available to be used on your site. It is possible to have multiple authentication plugins enabled at once.

To configure your authentication methods, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Quick-access menu > Plugins > Authentication > Manage authentication.
  2. Click the crossed-out eye icon () to enable an authentication method.
  3. Use the up/down arrows to change the order of the plugins. Ensure that the plugin that handles most of the user authentications is at the top of the list.
  4. Click Settings next to an authentication plugin to configure the plugin properties.
  5. Click Save changes to save your options.
If you are using Totara Learn and have courses with guest access, set the Guest login button setting to show.

Remember, the crossed-out eye icon  () means the authentication method is disabled, whereas the open eye icon () means it is enabled.
