If you have a link to media content, such as a video, then you can embed this into a resource (Totara Engage ) or other content area (such as a label in a Totara Learn course).
Firstly, create your resource, label or other content, then follow these steps:
- Select the link icon (
) in the editor. - Enter the website address in the URL field.
- Select Done.
The media will now be added to your content. Complete the rest of the steps for adding the resource, label or other content.

Note that the Display text field is unavailable when linking to a video from a recognised site (YouTube or Vimeo).
In addition to the method outlined above, you can simply paste a Youtube or Vimeo URL into the editor and the video will be automatically embedded.
In the bottom-right corner of the video player you can click the three dots icon (.png?sv=2022-11-02&spr=https&st=2026-02-12T13%3A13%3A27Z&se=2026-02-12T13%3A24%3A27Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=T6e7HZz04ppQJdRYG%2BapMkOyHFq%2BnIjJE2Vad19%2Br6Y%3D)
) to Edit the URL, display a text link instead, or Remove the video.
