Open vragen vormen een vraag die cursisten moeten beantwoorden met vrije tekst of door een document te uploaden, dat vervolgens manueel wordt beoordeeld door de juiste persoon. Open vragen worden over het algemeen gebruikt wanneer de cursist een langer, kritischer antwoord moet geven.

Als je alleen wil dat cursisten kort antwoord geven (bijvoorbeeld één of twee woorden), dan moet je in plaats daarvan het vraagtype kort antwoord gebruiken.
