    Send an ad hoc message

    Ad hoc messages are instant, one-time messages that you send out to a group of users associated with a seminar activity

    Follow these steps to send an ad hoc message:

    1. Go to the seminar activity for which you wish to send an ad hoc message.
    2. In the Seminar administration block, click Ad-hoc messages
    3. Click Add ad-hoc message
    4. Complete the settings and add the message content. 
    5. Click Save

    The message will be sent instantly after you save it. 

    With the introduction of a modern, centralised notification system for seminars, we have separated ad hoc messaging from legacy seminar notifications. This means that you can now use the ad hoc message feature to send instant messages to groups of users associated with a seminar.
