# Access another user's competency profile

If you have permissions to view someone else's competency profile (as either a Site Administrator, their Manager, or an Appraiser assigned to them) then you can do this via their [profile page](/18/docs/view-a-users-profile). On the user's profile page in the **Develop** block you will see a link to the [**Competency profile**](/18/docs/using-the-competency-profile).

As an appraiser you can also access the competency profile of a user from any rating requests you receive.

When you access the competency profile you will see information about any competencies assigned to that user as well as an **Assign competencies** button in the top right. There may also be a button in the top right for **Rate competencies** if the user has any competencies assigned to them that you can rate.

When [viewing someone else's profile](/18/docs/view-a-users-profile) you will see their name and profile picture displayed in the top-left corner (this will not be present when viewing your own profile).
