# Create a legacy goal scale

If you wish to add a new goal scale, follow these steps.

1. Go to *Quick-access menu > Goals > Manage goals.*
2. Click **Add a new goal scale**.
3. Enter a **Name** that describes this scale. It will be visible when selecting the scale to use in a framework.
4. Enter the **Scale values** with one value one each line. Values should be in order from most complete to least. For example:
  - Completed
  - In Progress
  - Started
5. Enter a **Description** of the scale.
6. Click **Save changes**.

Be sure to [edit the new scale](/18/docs/edit-a-goal-scale) to set the default value and mark which values will be considered as complete.
