# Create a set audience

Set [audiences](/18/docs/what-is-an-audience) are fixed and can only be updated manually, meaning they are not a good choice for audiences that are likely to change frequently. If you have a fixed group of individuals (perhaps a department or project group) then you may wish to create a set audience for them.

To create a set audience, follow these steps:

1. Go to *Quick-access menu > Audiences.*
2. Select the **Add new audience** tab.
3. Complete the [settings](/18/docs/set-audience-settings) as required.
4. Select **Save changes**.

You will then be taken to the **Edit members** tab for this new audience.
