Send an instant message

You can send instant messages to other users on the site, whether they are currently a contact or not. 

1. Click your name in the top-right corner.
2. Select Messages from the menu. 
3. Click the Contacts tab (at the bottom of the left-hand panel). 
4. Choose an existing contact or search for a new one and click their name.
5. Enter your message in the box provided.
6. Click Send.

Your message will be saved as the first item within a conversation.

Contacts will include both active and suspended users. Suspended users will be able to see their messages once their suspension is lifted.

The recipient will be notified of your message (as per their messaging notification preferences) and their response will be captured within the same conversation. You may have any number of conversations running at the same time.
