# Add a block

To add a [block](/19/docs/what-are-blocks) to the front page or a course page, follow these steps:

1. Go to the page to which you want to add a block and click **Turn editing on**.
2. Select the plus icon (![](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/add_block.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-27T16%3A27%3A57Z&se=2026-10-27T17%3A27%3A57Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=UOlEozydv%2Fpufg8wurZulbJ4KHGG27%2B42Gfz5FkvdLk%3D)) in an available block region (these are indicated by a rectangle with a dotted outline).
3. Select the required block from the list, either by scrolling down the list of available blocks or by entering the name of the block in the **Search** field.
