# Add a featured links block to the home page, profile pages or a course

You can add a [featured links block](/19/docs/featured-links-block) in a few different places, including the home page, profile pages and course pages.

1. Go to the page on which you wish to add the **Featured links** block.
2. Turn editing on and select the plus icon (![](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/add_block.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-27T14%3A19%3A33Z&se=2026-10-27T15%3A19%3A33Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=UFe6wfms%2FwqQ6eafxWTdlha2Epbfg4fhiedV2R0t2kA%3D)) in the required block region.
3. Select **Featured links**.
4. Within the **Featured links** block, click the **Add tile** button.
5. Configure the [settings](/19/docs/featured-links-block-settings)[](https://help.totaralearning.com/display/THM/.Featured+links+block+v14#id-.Featuredlinksblockv14-flb_se) to your preferences.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 as required.
7. Click **Save changes**.

When adding content to a tile you can [add placeholders in the **Description** field](/19/docs/featured-links-block-placeholders). This allows you to include information about the user viewing the block, such as their name or institution. You can do this either by typing the **[** key and selecting a placeholder from the list, or by entering the [placeholder syntax](/19/docs/featured-links-block-placeholders).
