# Add an IMS content package

You can add your IMS content packages to courses as [activities](/19/docs/course-activity-types).

To do so, follow these steps:

1. Click **Turn editing on**.
2. Click **Add an activity or resource**.
3. Select **IMS Content package** from the list.
4. Enter a name and description to appear on the course page for learners.
5. Select the package file you want to use.
6. Customise the available [settings](/19/docs/ims-content-package-settings).
7. Click **Save and display** or **Save and return to course**.
