AI course tag recommendations

You can enable and use AI tag recommendations for courses. This feature uses a Totara integration with OpenAI to recommend tags to add to each course, based on the information included within that course. This tool will only suggest existing tags, and will not create new ones. If you have tags in multiple languages, this tool will only suggest tags in the user's preferred language.

When this experimental feature is enabled, follow these steps to set up your OpenAI API account with Totara:

1. Go to Quick-access menu > Development > Experimental > Artificial intelligence > OpenAI (/integrations/ai/index.php).
2. Add your OpenAI API details.
3. Click Save changes.

Then, follow these steps to add tags to a course using the AI recommender:

1. Go to Quick-access menu > Courses and categories and select the course for which you want to add course tags. Note that this feature is not available when initially creating a course, and will only reference content already saved to the page.
2. Click Edit to edit the course settings.
3. Scroll down and expand the Tags section.
4. Click Generate tags.
5. Select the tags you wish to add to the course, or click Regenerate tags if you want to see more suggestions.
6. Click Save and display.
