Configure default cache store

You can set the default store that gets used for a cache type when there is not a specific mapping that has been made for it.
- Go to Quick-access menu > Plugins > Caching > Configuration.
- Scroll down to the Stores used when no mapping is present table.
- Click Edit mappings, located below the table.
- Use the dropdown menus to select one store for each cache type to use when it gets initialised (if there is not an explicit mapping for it).
- Click Save changes when you are done.
On this interface the dropdowns only contain store instances that are suitable for mapping to the type. Not all instances will necessarily be shown. If you have a store instance you don't see then it is not suitable for all the cache definitions that exist.
You will not be able to make that store instance the default, you will instead need to map it explicitly to each cache you want/can use it for.
You can read more about these configurations and caching in general on the Caching page.
