# Delete a block

You can remove a [block](/19/docs/what-are-blocks) by following these steps:

1. Click **Turn editing on**.
2. Click the cog icon (![](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/cog.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-27T17%3A47%3A29Z&se=2026-10-27T18%3A47%3A29Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=dGYEgC%2BxP6%2BxYLmOCHskQ1xJ4oFuzgV964F6bL%2FmM0I%3D)) on the block you wish to delete.
3. Select **Delete [name] block**.
4. Click **Yes** to confirm the deletion.

The block will be removed. When you delete a block in this way you are only removing it from that particular context (for all users). The block itself will remain available unless it is [disabled by a Site Administrator](/19/docs/configure-blocks).
