To delete a tenant, follow these steps: 1. Go to *Quick-access menu > Tenants*. 2. Click the cross icon (![](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/thin_cross.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-01T18%3A10%3A26Z&se=2026-11-01T19%3A10%3A26Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=amjyUlaXwsCO4x342sCzy1oHlNYW6Ibu9bEkcZTHT8k%3D)) next to the tenant you wish to delete. When deleting a tenant you will be able to choose between suspending, deleting or keeping tenant members' user accounts which no longer have a tenant. The latter option should be used with caution, as users who are not members of a tenant are classed as system users, meaning they are not restricted to tenant boundaries. Tenant participant accounts will not be affected when a tenant is deleted. The tenant content will be hidden from users, but will still be visible for Site Administrators. ![Course badge](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/course-badge_multitenancy(1).svg?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-01T18%3A10%3A26Z&se=2026-11-01T19%3A10%3A26Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=amjyUlaXwsCO4x342sCzy1oHlNYW6Ibu9bEkcZTHT8k%3D)The Totara Academy has a whole course dedicated to using [Multitenancy in Totara](https://totara.community/mod/page/view.php?id=22057).
