# Disable open badges

If you do not wish to use the [badges](/19/docs/what-are-open-badges) feature then you may want to disable it. The badges functionality is enabled by default, so must be disabled within **Configure features** via the quick-access menu.

To disable open badges, follow these steps:

1. Go to *Quick-access menu > Configure features > Shared services settings.*
2. Untick **Enable badges.**
3. Click **Save changes**.
