Edit a badge message

When adding a badge at the site or course level, the notification sent to badge recipients can be customised using the HTML editor provided.
To change the default badge message notification type go to Quick-access menu > Plugins > Message outputs > Default message outputs.
The process for editing a site or course badge message is the same, the only difference is the path taken to get to the badge.
Edit a site badge message
- Go to Quick-access menu > Badges.
- Click the name of the badge you want the edit the message for.
- Select the Message tab.
- Edit the default Message subject and Message body.
- Select Attach badge to message to attach the badge to the recipient's email for download.
- Select Notify badge creator and select the frequency of the notification to generate an alert every time the badge is earned.
- Select Save changes.
Site badge messages are sent from the primary Site Administrator.
Edit a course badge message
- Go to the course containing the badge for which you wish to edit the message.
- From the Administration block go to Course administration > Badges > Manage badges.
- Click the name of the badge you want the edit the message for.
- Select the Message tab.
- Edit the default Message subject and Message body.
- Select Attach badge to message to attach the badge to the recipient's email for download.
- Select Notify badge creator and select the frequency of the notification to generate an alert every time the badge is earned.
- Select Save changes.
Course badge messages are sent from the primary trainer.
Message variables
The following variables can be included in the Message subject:
- %badgename% : This will be replaced by the badge's full name.
- %username% : This will be replaced by the recipient's full name.
- %badgelink% : This will be replaced by the public URL with information about the issued badge.
