Delete a notification

Prev Next

If you no longer require a notification, you can choose to delete it. Note that notifications can only be deleted in the context where they were created.

When a notification is deleted, it will be removed from all descendent contexts where it previously existed, and any customisations made to the notification in those descendent contexts will be lost. In some situations, it may make more sense to disable the notification, keeping customisations made in lower contexts, and allowing the notification to be reenabled in the lower contexts where it is still applicable.

To delete a notification, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Quick-access menu > Notifications to delete a notification at the site level, or navigate to the notifications page in the context (e.g. a specific course) containing the notification you wish to delete.
  2. Expand the feature (e.g. Seminar) and notification trigger for the notifications you wish to delete.
  3. Click the icon of three dots (three_dots(1)) next to the notification, then select Delete.
