# Enable tags

Before [tags](/19/docs/what-are-tags) can be used on your site they must first be enabled.

1. Go to *Quick-access menu > Configure features* *> Shared service settings**.*
2. Click **Enable tags functionality**.
3. Scroll to the bottom.
4. Click **Save changes**.
