Hide restricted content

Prev Next

If you have set up restrictions for courses or sections, you can choose to hide these activities and sections from learners who are unable to access them.

To hide restricted content, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the course and edit the activity or section you want to hide.
  2. Expand the Restrict access section to see the restrictions that have already been set up.
  3. Toggle the eye icons (,) to hide or show the activity/section based on each restriction. If the eye is shut or crossed out then learners who do not meet that condition will not see the activity at all. If the eye is open then learners who do not meet the condition will see the activity, but it will be greyed out/unable to be accessed, and will instead display information on why they can't access it yet.
  4. Click Save changes when you're done.
The closed eye takes precedence. For example, you could have two conditions, one based on date (with the eye icon closed) and one based on completing a previous activity (with the eye icon open). That way, the activity will not appear at all until the specified date; then it will appear, but will tell you that you need to complete the other activity; then when you complete the other activity you can access it.

Hiding restrictions by closing the eye icon.
