# Move a block

Blocks on the front page, dashboards or in courses can be moved to other available block regions by following these steps:

1. Select **Turn editing on** for the page.
2. Select and hold the crosshair icon (![](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/image-1635172318948.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-27T16%3A27%3A11Z&se=2026-10-27T17%3A27%3A11Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=D1ItIntJntrCgiNpabi2Q%2FQp38hY%2BJDuja%2FTW9ZTutY%3D)) within the block header.
3. Drag and drop the selected block to its new location.

If a block can be moved to a new region, it will display in preview before you confirm its location by releasing the block.
