Clone a certification

Article Summary

Instead of creating a new certification, you may want to duplicate an existing certification. Any users with the Clone certification (totara/program:clonecertification) capability can duplicate a certification. To duplicate a certification, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the certification (e.g. via the catalogue or Quick-access menu > Certifications).
  2. Click Edit certification details.
  3. Click Clone certification.
  4. Select the components you want to copy from the following:
    • Copy details (if this isn't checked then the default settings will be used)
    • Copy content
    • Copy notifications
  5. Click Clone.
Note that certification assignments and completion records cannot be duplicated.

If you have the Edit certification capability you can now configure the new certification as required (users without this capability will instead see the Overview tab). By default the new certification will be hidden. You can now update the Full name and Short name, and give the certification a new Certification ID.
