    Clone a program

    Article summary

    Instead of creating a new program, you may want to duplicate an existing program. Any users with the Clone program (totara/program:cloneprogram) capability can duplicate a program. To duplicate a program, follow these steps:

    1. Navigate to the program (e.g. via the catalogue or Quick-access menu > Programs).
    2. Click Edit program details.
    3. Click Clone program.
    4. Select the components you want to copy from the following:
      • Copy details
      • Copy content
      • Copy notifications
    5. Click Clone.
    Note that program assignments and completion records cannot be duplicated.

    If you have the Edit program capability you can now configure the new program as required (users without this capability will instead see the Overview tab). By default the new program will be hidden. You can now update the Full name and Short name, and give the program a new Program ID.
