# Access another user's skill profile

If you have permissions to view someone else's skill profile (as either a Site Administrator, their Manager, or an Appraiser assigned to them) then you can do this via their [profile page](/totara-20/docs/view-a-users-profile). On the user's profile page in the **Develop** block you will see a link to the [**Skill profile**](/totara-20/docs/using-the-competency-profile).

As an appraiser you can also access the skill profile of a user from any rating requests you receive.

When you access the skill profile you will see information about any skills assigned to that user as well as an **Assign skills** button in the top right. There may also be a button in the top right for **Rate skills** if the user has any skills assigned to them that you can rate.

When [viewing someone else's profile](/totara-20/docs/view-a-users-profile) you will see their name and profile picture displayed in the top-left corner (this will not be present when viewing your own profile).
