Add content to a resource


Article Summary

When creating a resource, you can add text, videos, files and hyperlinks.

To start editing and adding content to a resource, click the pencil icon () below the resource title.

Videos

You can embed videos in resources from two recognised websites: YouTube and Vimeo. Embedded videos allow users to view the video without leaving the page.

To embed a video from one of the recognised sites, you can paste the link directly into the text editor. Alternatively, you can follow these steps:

  1. Select the link icon () in the text editor.
  2. Enter the website address in the URL field. The Display text field is unavailable when linking to a video from one of the two recognised sites.
  3. Select Done.

The size of the embedded video is the default size provided by the linked website (e.g. YouTube), and the video is auto-paused by default.

Files

To add files to a resource, follow these steps:

  1. Select the paperclip icon () in the text editor.
  2. Select a file from the file picker.
  3. Select the icon of three dots () under the linked attachment to set how it displays.

To add a hyperlink to a resource, follow these steps:

  1. Select the link icon () in the text editor.
  2. Enter the website address in the URL field.
  3. Add the text you want to display for the link in the Display text field.
  4. Select Done.

Alternatively, you can select a section of existing text before clicking the insert link icon, in which case the Display text field will be automatically populated with your selection.

Once you have added a link, you can click on the link text to view a dropdown menu of options. From here you can choose to Remove or Edit the link, or Go to link to view the linked website.

You can also choose Display as card to show the link as a small card containing the site's URL, a thumbnail image, and a snippet of metadata from the website, as shown below:
