Award a badge manually

Site and course badges that include the Manual issue by role criterion can be awarded manually to users via the Recipients tab within the Manage badges page. Users with the badges:awardbadge capability can manually award badges.

Award a site badge manually

1. Go to Quick-access menu > Badges. 
2. Click the trophy icon () next to the badge you want to award manually.
3. Highlight the user(s) to be awarded the badge in the Potential badge recipients column (you may need to use the search if you have a lot of eligible users).
4. Click the Award badge button in the middle.

You can select multiple users by holding Ctrl as you click on each user. Note that there is no save button, so once you have selected a user and clicked the Award badge button they will immediately be moved to the Existing badge recipients column, meaning they have been awarded the badge.

Badges can also be revoked or unawarded on this page.

Award a course badge manually

1. Go to the course containing the badge you wish to delete. 
2. From the Administration block go to Course administration > Badges > Manage badges. 
3. Click the trophy icon () alongside the badge you want to award manually.
4. Highlight the user(s) to be awarded the badge in the Potential badge recipients column (you may need to use the search if you have a lot of eligible users).
5. Click the Award badge button in the middle.

You can select multiple users by holding Ctrl as you click on each user. There is no save button, so once you have selected a user and clicked the Award badge button they will be moved the the Existing badge recipients column, meaning they have been awarded the badge.
