Capability overview

Capabilities in Totara determine the actions a user can take on the system. It is important to know that the permissions and capabilities of each role can be customised. This means any role may have a different range of capabilities on your site compared to the default setup.

To check the capabilities for a role, follow these steps:

1. Go to Quick-access menu > Permissions > Capability overview. 
2. Select one or more capabilities from the Capability setting.
3. Select one or more roles from the Roles setting.
4. Click Get the overview. 

The results will be displayed in a grid, and cells will say Allow when the role has the corresponding capability.
