# Change a user's password

As a Site Administrator you can change the password of any user on your site.

To change a user's password, follow these steps:

1. Go to *Quick-access menu > Users.*
2. Click the padlock icon ( ![closed_padlock(1)](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/closed_padlock(1).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-06T06%3A55%3A25Z&se=2026-11-06T07%3A55%3A25Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=pW98uqw%2FGb7NI3ppDfaY7%2FQBKZ3s9CEdXNMC7k2C6s0%3D)) alongside a user's name.
3. On the **Manage login** page, scroll down to the **Action** section.
4. Select **Change password**.
5. Enter a new password.
6. Click **Update**.

If the user is locked out of the site then you will also see the option in the **Action** section to **Generate password and notify user**.
