# Configure message output

If you wish to use the Totara AirNotifier or Jabber [message outputs](/totara-20/docs/message-outputs) then you will first need to configure them.

1. Go to *Quick-access menu > Plugins > Message outputs > Manage message outputs.*
2. Click the **Settings** link next to the output you wish to configure.
3. Complete the settings.
4. Click **Save changes**.
