# Deactivate report restrictions

You can deactivate (or activate) [global report restrictions](/totara-20/docs/what-are-global-report-restrictions) to determine whether they take affect. To ensure your restrictions are not applied they will need to be disabled.

1. Go to *Quick-access menu* *> Reports > Report builder > Global report restrictions.*
2. Click the open eye icon (![](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/eye_open.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-01T13%3A47%3A05Z&se=2026-11-01T14%3A47%3A05Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=M86tUu%2FsRZaTUVGsBpg4q%2BUZWjG0xbwnt%2F%2Fb9iOAH1g%3D)) to deactivate a restriction.

When deactivated, these restrictions will no longer restrict access to reports.
