# Delete a course

To delete a course, follow these steps:

1. Go to *Quick-access menu > Courses and categories*.
2. Select the category containing the course you want to delete.
3. Next to the course you want to delete, click the cross icon.
4. When asked to confirm, click **Delete**.

The course will then be deleted from your site. If the [recycle bin is enabled](/totara-20/docs/enable-the-recycle-bin), you can [restore the deleted course](/totara-20/docs/restore-content-from-the-recycle-bin) if required.
