# Delete an organisation type

If you decide you no longer want or need an [organisation type](/totara-20/docs/create-an-organisation-type) then you may wish to delete it.

To delete an organisation type, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to *Quick-access menu > Organisations.*
2. Click **Manage types**.
3. Click the cross icon (![thin_cross](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/thin_cross.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-29T22%3A53%3A45Z&se=2026-10-29T23%3A53%3A45Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=MrHG8Ixd62FOAxLqHXTlkjz4CTLqcIe6YJOX%2FO16Mjk%3D)) in the **Actions** column for the organisation type you wish to delete.
4. A warning message is displayed, click **Yes** to confirm.
