# Disable OAuth 2 service

If you no longer require an OAuth 2 authentication service then you can disable it. You might want to consider disabling a service before you look at permanently [deleting the connection](/totara-20/docs/delete-oauth-2-service) and any associated data. Disabling a service means that it can no longer be used, but all of the configuration information is kept in the system for future use.

To disable an OAuth 2 service, follow these steps:

1. Go to *Quick-access menu >* *Server > OAuth 2* *services*.
2. Click the eye icon (![](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/eye_open.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-01T12%3A41%3A08Z&se=2026-11-01T13%3A41%3A08Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=jQC0LkxL9LCuqLCfMdPie%2BCc6xUNSj%2F%2BE1H8%2Bbj%2FOSw%3D)) in the **Edit** column.
