Configure category enrolment

If you wish for a user to have access to all courses within a certain category then you can use the category enrolment method. This is done at the category level and the enrolment will then be inherited by all courses in the category. 

To enrol a user in a category you will need to have the permissions of a Site Manager or Site Administrator. 

1. Go to Quick-access menu > Course and categories > Assign roles.
2. Click the name of the role you want to assign. 
3. Select (or search for) the users you want to add in the Potential users column.
4. Click the Add button. 

When you are finished check that the users you want in the role are in the Existing users column. You can then simply navigate away from the page, there is no save button. 

It is recommended to use audience sync to enrol users in courses in a category rather than category enrolments.
