When creating or editing a position (also known as a position item) the following settings are available.
Setting | Description | Notes |
---|---|---|
Parent | The Parent setting allows you to build parent-child relationships between the individual positional items in your hierarchy framework. You must have at least one position item set up in your framework for this option to be available. The default value is Top. | Only appears once you have at least one position in the framework. |
Name | The name of the position is normally a job title or role. | - |
Position ID number | The Position ID number is a unique number used to represent the position. This is an optional field. | - |
Description | A free-text field for providing more details about this position. This data is displayed when viewing the hierarchy listing, and the individual position page. | - |
Type | Types are containers for custom fields. When you assign a position to a type, the position inherits the custom fields associated with it. This is an optional field, so this can be left blank or set later. | See Create a position type for more information. |
