Using your profile

As a Totara user you can customise your profile, adding additional details and a profile picture. This can help other users to know who you are, and even affect the recommended content you are shown (if enabled on your site).

To view your profile, open the user menu by clicking your name in the top-right corner, then click Profile.

Editing your profile

The exact fields you can edit may depend on the setup of your organisation's Totara site, but you may be able to add details such as:

• Location (city/ town, country, and/or time zone)
• Description (of you and/or your role in the organisation)
• Additional names (including phonetic names, middle names, and aliases/nicknames)
• Interests

To edit your profile information, follow these steps:

1. Click on your name in the top-right corner.
2. Select Profile from the dropdown menu.
3. Click Edit profile in the User details block.
4. Change your profile details as required.
5. Click Update profile at the bottom of the page. 

Upload a profile picture

You may want to upload a profile picture to represent you across the site. This could be a picture of you, or something that represents you, such as a pair of glasses or a familiar object from your office.

To upload a profile picture, follow these steps:

1. Click on your name in the top-right corner.
2. Select Profile from the dropdown menu.
3. Click Edit profile in the User details block.
4. Scroll down to User picture. 
5. Use the New picture box to drag and drop an image, or click the icon of a file with a plus sign () to browse for one using the file picker. 
6. Click Update profile at the bottom of the page.
