# Enable a file licence

As a Site Administrator you can configure which licences will be available for users when uploading a file from a file repository.

Follow these steps to enable file licences:

1. Go to *Quick-access menu >* *Plugins > Licences > Manage licences.*
2. Select the **Default site licence** from the dropdown menu.
3. Click the crossed-out eye icon (![](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/eye_close.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-06T05%3A58%3A50Z&se=2026-11-06T06%3A58%3A50Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=PR4aRFwTEcxqv6gEeXbahsR4mN0i7SJn8YJOCNhQ3ms%3D)) to enable the licence.
4. Click **Save changes** when you are done.

If the eye icon is closed (![](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/eye_close.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-06T05%3A58%3A50Z&se=2026-11-06T06%3A58%3A50Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=PR4aRFwTEcxqv6gEeXbahsR4mN0i7SJn8YJOCNhQ3ms%3D) ) the licence is disabled and not available to users.
