# Schakel instant messaging in

Als je wil dat gebruikers [expresberichten](/totara-20/docs/instant-messaging) naar elkaar kunnen sturen op je site, dan moet je eerst deze functie inschakelen.

1. Ga naar *Snelmenu > Configureer functies > Instellingen gedeelde service**.***
2. Vink Berichtensysteem **inschakelen aan.**
3. Klik op **Wijzigingen opslaan** (je moet naar de onderkant van het scherm scrollen).
