# Reorder main menu items

Once you have [added all of your main menu items](/totara-20/docs/add-a-main-menu-item), you may wish to rearrange them. To change the order of your main menu items, follow these steps:

1. Go to *Quick-access menu > Navigation > Main menu.*
2. Click the arrow icon ( ![](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/arrow_both.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-01T17%3A06%3A18Z&se=2026-11-01T18%3A06%3A18Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=%2FPxmSYhM68fY8XfRmPVGFjACwvVo50A%2FdJfOLTfdlxk%3D)) next to the item(s) you wish to move.

Ensure you click the arrow that matches the direction you want the item to move, e.g. the up arrow (![](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/arrow_up.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-01T17%3A06%3A18Z&se=2026-11-01T18%3A06%3A18Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=%2FPxmSYhM68fY8XfRmPVGFjACwvVo50A%2FdJfOLTfdlxk%3D)) to move an item up the list or the down arrow (![](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/arrow_down.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-01T17%3A06%3A18Z&se=2026-11-01T18%3A06%3A18Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=%2FPxmSYhM68fY8XfRmPVGFjACwvVo50A%2FdJfOLTfdlxk%3D)) to move an item down the list.

You may need to click the arrow multiple times to move the item all the way to the location you want.
