When configuring a performance activity, users can add a Review item question type to allow participants to review an existing Totara goal.
To select Totara goals to review in a performance activity, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the performance activity.
- Work through the questions until you reach the Review item question.
- Click Add goals.
- Check the box for each goal you wish to review in this performance activity. You can use the search bar to look for a specific goal, or click the Selected tab to see only the goals you currently have selected.
- Click Add.
- You can remove a goal by clicking the X icon.
- Once you're happy with the selected goals, click Confirm selection.
- You can then click Update progress if you wish to update the goal, then enter a new Progress value and set a new Status. Click Update to finish updating the goal progress.
- Once you've updated the progress for all selected goals, click Submit.
The goal will be updated immediately. If the goal's Progress and Status are updated in a performance overview, only the first response submitted (if multiple responding participants are identified) will be applied.
Also note that participants assigned to this section of the performance activity will be able to view the goal's Title, Description, Status and Progress, but won't be able to view the goal outside of the activity.
The Totara Academy has a whole course dedicated to using Goals in Totara Perform. Here you can learn more on how to use goals, see best practice, and give it a go yourself.
