# Select a theme

As a Site Administrator, you can choose the default site [theme](/totara-20/docs/themes) by following these steps:

1. Go to *Quick-access menu > Appearance > Themes > Theme selector* (/theme/index.php).
2. Click **Change theme** alongside the context for which you want to set the theme (**Default** applies to desktop PCs, laptops, etc., or you can choose to edit the theme for **Mobile** or **Tablet**).
3. Find the theme you wish to use (we recommend **Inspire**).
4. Click **Use theme**.
5. Click **Continue**. The new theme will now be set.

A different theme can be enabled for mobile, tablet and/or default devices (desktop PCs, laptops, etc.), or you can use one responsively designed theme, which will adapt to the screen size/resolution of the user. **Enable device detection** must be enabled via *Quick-access menu >* *Appearance > Themes > Theme settings* (/admin/settings.php?section=themesettings).

Note that the **Mobile** and **Tablet** themes here refer to how your site will display in a web browser on these devices, not the [Totara Mobile](/totara-20/docs/what-is-totara-mobile) app. See [Totara Mobile theme settings](/totara-20/docs/configure-the-totara-mobile-theme) for more information on configuring the app's look and feel.
