Go to *Quick-access menu > Plugins > Repositories > Manage repositories*. 2. Next to **Dropbox**, select **Enabled and visible** from the dropdown list. 3. To configure the repository you will need to get a **Dropbox API key** and a **Dropbox secret**. Keep this tab/window open, and click the **[Dropbox developers](https://www.dropbox.com/login?cont=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dropbox.com%2Fdevelopers%2Fapps)** link, then log in to your Dropbox account. ### Configuring the app in Dropbox 1. Click the **Create app** button (if you can't see the button, you may need to first select the **Developers** link at the bottom of the screen). Click to create a new app on the next screen. 2. Select **Dropbox API** and **Full dropbox**, then give your app a name. 3. Click **Create app**. 4. Copy the **Dropbox API key** and **Dropbox secret**, then paste them into the corresponding settings in the Totara **Dropbox configuration** page. 5. On the same page in Totara, copy the **OAuth 2 Redirect URI** and return to the Dropbox app configuration. 6. Save your changes when you are done. 7. Paste the URI into the **Redirect URIs** field and click **Add**. 8. Select the **Permissions** tab. 9. Set the following scopes: - account_info.read - files.metadata.read - files.content.read - sharing.read - sharing.write 10. Optionally select the **Branding** tab to add additional information and your organisation's logo. ## **Using the Dropbox repository** When uploading files, users with the **repository/dropbox:view** capability (by default this will be all authenticated users) will now see the **Dropbox** option in the file picker. Users will need to log in to their Dropbox account, then select **Allow**. ## Next steps - [Configure an individual repository](/totara-20/docs/configure-an-individual-repository) - [Repository settings](/totara-20/docs/repository-settings) - [Enable repositories](/totara-20/docs/enable-repositories) - [Configure site-wide repository settings](/totara-20/docs/configure-site-wide-repository-settings) Join the [Totara Community](https://totara.community/) for more resources to help you get the most out of Totara. © Copyright 2026 Totara Learning Solutions.
