# Skills and performance management

As of October 2026, there are two skills and performance management components in Totara, that you can use depending on your organisation's needs:

- [**Totara Perform**](/totara-20/docs/what-is-totara-perform)**:** Totara Perform is a performance management system add-on for Totara, introducing skills, goals, and performance activities
- [**Totara Skills**](/totara-20/docs/what-is-totara-skills)**:** Totara Skills is a skills management system offering the same core functionality of Totara Perform, with enhanced skills functionality, career paths, skills heatmaps, insights, and more
