What are virtual rooms?

It isn't always easy to get your learners and facilitators in the same physical place, as there can be logistical and planning issues making it difficult to organise. In recent years this issue has been highlighted as more people move to remote working and learning.
Instead of running seminar events in physical locations (e.g. conference rooms or office spaces), you can use the seminar activity to run online events in virtual rooms. Virtual rooms are typically video calls in software such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams, offering a number of tools to help the facilitator to run the event.
Instead of assigning a room to a seminar event, you can create a virtual room from a provider (Zoom or Microsoft Teams) you have previously configured, or assign an existing virtual room (from any software of your choice) using a custom link.
The Totara Academy has a whole course dedicated to Seminar Management in Totara Learn. Here you can learn more about how to use seminars, see best practice, and give it a go yourself.
