# Add a legacy seminar notification template

This notification system is now a legacy feature. Please see [Using centralised notifications](/totara-20/docs/using-centralised-notifications) for details on using the modern notification system. You can also view our [Transitioning to new seminar notifications](/totara-20/docs/transitioning-to-new-seminar-notifications) guidance. 

A Site Administrator can add a new site-wide notification template that will be available for use across all seminar activities on the site.

To create a new site-wide template, follow these steps:

1. Go to *Quick-access menu >* *Seminars > Notification templates.*
2. Select the **Add** button under the list of notifications.
3. Completed the desired [settings](/totara-20/docs/seminar-notification-template-settings).
4. When you are finished select **Add**.

To edit an existing template, click the cog icon (![cog](https://cdn.document360.io/a007399b-031e-436b-999a-528240e16f58/Images/Documentation/cog.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-06T06%3A42%3A13Z&se=2026-11-06T07%3A42%3A13Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=J9lVyQQWDsegjlktXYzQwOQPu39tNQCnk5lFvCMVxEg%3D)) under **Options** alongside the notification you wish to edit. Remember to click **Save changes** once you are finished editing.
